Javascript is a scripting language that Web Developer's use to make the web sites more dynamic. HTML is very limited but Javascript can push those limits. Javascript's include (but are not limited to) Rollover buttons, Validating forms, menus, and even animation.

ASP (Active Server Pages) have become extremely important over the last few years. ASP pages are run from the server and are database driven. ASP pages are excellent for having users log in to your site, or have a database of products that users can search, mingle, or just browse through.

Flash development is a part of web development that has recently been all the rage. Flash is the process of developing interactive movies that lead the users through your site. There is a plethera of web sites out there that are using flash, both effectively and noneffectively, but visit Macromedia's (the developers of Flash) website for some links.
